Storage Cleaner for Mac

Find and safely clean the space AI models, Xcode, node_modules and package caches use on your Mac, with Undo.

Version 1.0.2

Storage Cleaner overview

Storage Cleaner finds the gigabytes developer tools and local AI models quietly keep: Ollama, LM Studio and Hugging Face / MLX models, Xcode DerivedData, simulator runtimes and device support, node_modules, Rust target folders, Python virtual environments, Docker images and build cache, and 20+ package-manager caches (npm, pnpm, pip, uv, Homebrew, Cargo, Gradle, CocoaPods and more).

Every item shows its real size, when you last used it and a Safe / Review / Caution label. Cleaning moves files to the Trash, so you can Undo, and it asks you to quit Xcode or an editor if they're using the files. Automatic rules can keep DerivedData and old node_modules from piling up again.

What's new in version 1.0.2

  • Finds the npx cache and Xcode build folders kept inside projects.
  • Finds models and caches in custom folders set in your shell (OLLAMA_MODELS, HF_HOME and more).
  • Asks you to quit Xcode, editors, Ollama or Docker before cleaning files they're using.
  • Undo now steps back one cleanup at a time.
  • Automation explains why a rule can't run, and you can type the number of days.
  • Shows current prices, including the 3-Mac plan.
  • New installer window and smaller fixes.
